Allotment
In 2009 we started an allotment at Glebe Garden Centre. This was mainly for non gardening members of staff to have a go and experience the joys of growing some vegetable. The first year was very successful, and yielded a good crop. Spurred on by this, the growing continued but on a small scale. Towards the end of 2011, we get the notion to grow vegetable on the patch to supply Chives coffee shop. This would surly make the food taste better, and tell a nice story of being able to watch the vegetables grow before you can buy and eat them. This idea gathered pace, and Rob was recruited to look after the veg patch full time. Come 2011 the idea to supply Chives was snowballing, and to meet the ever increasing demand due to popularity of Chives, we decide to expand and move the veg patch. You can see for yourself from Chives how large the area is, and you can often see Rob working away, or if not enjoying a well deserved drink in Chives.
On this page we will update regularly so you can see the state of the patch, and keep up to date with the goings on.
